CANDLEBOX - VEXATIOUS

KEITH SECOLA - NDN KARS
| STARTS AT : 11m 30s
http://www.rockwired.com/KeithSecolaCircleCD.jpgKEITH SECOLA is an ambassador of Native rock and roll. For more than 20 years, he has remained a defining force in the community - a beloved singer, bandleader, and activist. In December, DON GIOVANNI RECORDS celebrated the 25th anniversary of SECOLA's 1992 debut album, CIRCLE, with a CD reissue and a first-time vinyl pressing. The record - a compilation of songs that were initially released on small run cassettes - is a defining work of Native Americana and contains SECOLA's most beloved song, NDN KARS. There are plenty of rock 'n roll songs about cars, but SECOLA's ride is a different type of vehicle. It is symbolic of community, rather than individualism. "My car is dented / the radiator steams / One headlight don't work/ But the radio can scream," he sings. "At that time the connotation of an Indian Car was negative. To me, it's [a song] about the richness of being poor," writes SECOLA. "The essence of the song is in the line, 'I got a sticker says 'NDN Power'/ I stuck it on my bumper /That's what holds my car together." Belief in a higher power."

BOBAFLEX - LIGHTS OUT

RED VELVET CRUSH - STATE OF EMERGENCY

THE OUTFIT - SOLDIER BOY | STARTS AT: 33m 03s
http://www.rockwired.com/TheOutfitCD.jpgFrom the streets of Chicago, something is brewing. Chicago veteran musicians, brothers MARK and MATT NAWARA, and MIKE GORMAN, along with Phoenix, Arizona's, ANDY MITCHELL have formed THE OUTFIT. THE OUTFIT brings you straight up rock and roll, with catchy hooks and an aggressive sound. The NAWARA brothers played the Chicago club scene for years, along with writing and recording original music. MIKE GORMAN comes from two legendary Chicago bands, PEZBAND and OFF BROADWAY. Rounding out the lineup is singer/songwriter and guitarist ANDY MITCHELL, whose past bands included DISH, VERONA and 9 VOLT. THE OUTFIT recently finished recording their debut album. The album was engineered by Chicago music veteran MATT MERCADO at SONIC PALACE STUDIOS in Oak Park, Illinois and LARRY EYLEA at MINDS EYE DIGITAL RECORDING STUDIO in Glendale, Arizona. Mixing was being handled in Los Angeles by GRAMMY nominated, multi-platinum producer and mixer ULRICH WILD (PANTERA, STATIC-X, WHITE ZOMBIE, DEFTONES and BREAKING BENJAMIN).

ROADCASE ROYALE - HOLD ON TO MY HAND

VAJRA - THE MIRROR

COSMIC WOOL - #LONELY | STARTS AT 53m 15s
http://www.rockwired.com/CosmicWoolCD.jpgThe material on the COSMIC WOOL's self-titled full length is a very personal affair and the culmination of years of tearing down and rebuilding. HOLE FOR MY HEAD is one of the tracks featured on the band's debut EP and is the bridge from the members past bands till now. "It was a pivotal point in the writing and a cornerstone early on," explains frontman RADO ROMO. The only song to have a music video done and played on radio, it is most recognized for the high, raspy vocal and desert rock momentum. #LONELY takes a smoother pop-rock, almost blue-eyed soul approach, while still falling in a similar vein. A clean, telling vocal intro wastes no time in delivering the atmosphere of a broken heart over a building guitar and synth, while ONLY 2 takes a jump back & forth between both worlds: hanging out in the guitar rock universe, while also firmly planted in a drum and bass groove, the instantly memorable chorus vocal holds you there till it is launched to the top in a way only RADO ROMO can do. The song comes to a climax with, arguably, the most gnarly guitar solo of young NEVADA ROMO's career.

U.S. rockers SILK9 released their RETRIBUTION EP on January 5th through the newly formed RFL RECORDS. BraveWords is premiering the rocking new video from the band with I DON'T KNOW. Guitarist ANTHONY LEONE comments: "Thanks so much for taking time to check out our video for I DON'T KNOW  off the new SiLK9 EP, RETRIBUTION. To quickly give you some insight, I DON'T KNOW is about struggles. You may have struggles in life, or you may have addictions...regardless, we want everyone to know that even though things may feel at the worst, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Even when moving forward may feel like falling far behind, it's only temporary! Grab and cherish the good days, and let go of the bad ones." A press release states about RETRIBUTION: "Five high energy and flat-out aggressive tunes that will burn the soul and etch new depths into your metal core; melody that stretches the heart; a heavy beat that ravages your mind; a pre-cursor to the brand new full-length album planned for 2018. The dawn of a new era launches and the thunder that is SiLK9 is set to take the hard rock world by storm."
