ROCKWiRED BLAST: ROCKWiRED.COM ON HiATUS
http://www.rockwired.com/Hiatus2019.jpg

http://www.rockwired.com/CapitalATimes.jpgnyone who has followed ROCKWIRED.COM closely throughout the course of 2019 could see the writing on the wall and this official announcement may come as no surprise. 2019 was not our year and in order to ensure that the website survives, ROCKWIRED MEDIA LLC - the company that powers ROCKWIRED.COM - has decided to put the website on  hiatus until the January 17, 2020. According to ROCKWIRED.COM's editor-in-chief BRIAN LUSH, this announcement probably should've been issued much earlier in the year. "Never before have I ever been faced with a dilemma like this in all of the 15 years that we have been in operation," Says LUSH. "With the downturn in advertising and feeling as if we've lost our way a bit, I think the time away is going to be the best medicine for ROCKWIRED and when we return, I've got a good feeling that our readers will truly appreciate  our little publication even more and we may even bring new readers aboard the ROCKWIRED train."

Founded in 2005, ROCKWIRED.COM has been the online destination for hearing great music from the day's leading independent rockers as well as the fascinating perspectives of the artists themselves through their exciting podcasts and our one of a kind musical reportage. ROCKWIRED.COM attracts over 75,000 - 100,000 listeners and readers a month with their bold, punchy and colorful editorial that over the years has included the weekly podcast ROCKWIRED RADIO PROFILES (2010-2017), and the monthly periodical ROCKWIRED MAGAZINE (2012-2017). In the year 2018, ROCKWIRED' went back to being an online magazine only but made its first steps into expanding its coverage beyond that of music and more into the realm of pop culture. "This is something that we will be doing more of when we are back from our hiatus in January," says LUSH. "There is no way for any publication to survive if they just do one thing and I am excited to prove to our readers and to the world that we as a publication are capable of covering a wide range of stories throughout music and pop culture."

And what will this expanded coverage consist of upon ROCKWIRED.COM's return in January 2020? "Everything!" Exclaims LUSH. "New music from independent artists has been our stock and trade but I'd like for ROCKWIRED.COM to look at what is happening in the present as well as the past in terms of music, film, television and culture in general. In a time when the country is so divided and fragmented and inundated with politics, there needs to be an outlet for promoting creativity in all of these mediums as well as highlighting the various entrepreneurs and businesses that keep these mediums going."

Despite looking to broader coverage in the future, LUSH has no intention of taking too much of the focus away from what ROCKWIRED.COM has covered best - rock n roll. "We are still very much a rock n roll magazine because the world needs rock music more than ever. There is a joy and a release to the music and an irreverence to it (when it's done right) and what better time than now to get lost in the revelry. The music is far from dead. ROCKWIRED and I have known this for 15 years so the time off between now and January isn't going to be time off at all. We will be strategically planning our editorial for 2020 and beyond."

In addition to their expanded editorial in the coming year, ROCKWIRED.COM's Editor-In-Chief BRIAN LUSH is eager to move the ROCKWIRED name beyond the realm of the internet and into the world of print with two books that he is working on. One is a how-to book on putting an online rock magazine together which will cleverly showcase the history and evolution of ROCKWIRED.COM. The other is a collection of essays, reviews and interviews with contemporary American Indian and First Nations recording artists. "It is very important for me to step things up in the coming year," says LUSH. "ROCKWIRED is growing and moving into the world of print is an exciting prospect."

While ROCKWIRED.COM is on hiatus the website will remain online. For bands and artists who wish to submit music for review or interview consideration for ROCKWIRED.COM will have to wait a bit. ROCKWIRED.COM will not be accepting music submissions until December 13, 2019.
