2016 was an unkind year with  the loss of such musical luminaries as DAVID BOWIE, PRINCE, LEONARD COHEN and LEON RUSSELL. If there was ever a year where the music felt as if it had died it's this one and we haven't even touched on one of the most brutal election years in recent memory (and since we're not a political publication, we're not even going to get into the results!) 2016 was interesting year for ROCKWIRED. For four years, ROCKWIRED MAGAZINE has put forth one issue every month filled with interviews and insight into what is happening in the world of independent rock n roll and with 2016 coming to a close, it's publisher ROCKWIRED MEDIA LLC has made the decision to scale back the digital online publication to a bi-monthly (six issues a year) release citing a downturn in advertising and a desire to branch out into other areas. While the scale back may come as a surprise or even a shock to readers, Editor-In-Chief BRIAN LUSH wants readers to understand that the dream is not dead at ROCKWIRED. " Given the economic picture at the moment, the scale back - I feel - gives us the time to re-focus on what needs to be done to make the magazine  more profitable but also allows us to move forward in expanding our podcast programming. In the years before the magazine it was our podcasts that we were known for and we would like to see where we can go with that in the coming year."

The first issue of ROCKWIRED MAGAZINE's bi-monthly run will be available December 19, 2016 and will feature exclusive interviews with ROCKWIRED favorites such as CITY OF THE WEAK and DALI VAN GOGH (one of the bands that was featured on our first ever issue in May of 2012) as well as interviews with the bands VYCES and SEASONS AFTER. With our brand new release cycle you can also expect some exciting new editorial features as well as some familiar ones. Also ROCKWIRED will use this issue to announce the nominees for the upcoming 2017 ROCKWIRED READER'S POLL AWARDS.

What a years it's been with a crazy election and everything else that is happening in the world. It's been an eventful one for ROCKWIRED MAGAZINE as well with our recent shift from being a monthly magazine to a publication that will be released once every two months. The first  issue of this new  release cycle will be issued on December 19, 2016 and will feature our eagerly anticipated EDITOR'S CHOICE list where ROCKWIRED MAGAZINE gives it up for  25 of the bands and artists who made the 2016 editorial calendar something to experience. A lot of love and care was put into this list and - as the editor - I feel that not a space was wasted. A truly exciting year has come to a close and we here at ROCKWIRED are anxious to celebrate the close of the year with  you in what is sure to be a truly exciting issue.
