ROCKWiRED PRESS RELEASE: 2019 RRPA AWARD SEASON

http://rockwired.com/2019rrpapressrelease1.jpg

http://www.rockwired.com/2019RRPAEventInfo.jpghttp://www.rockwired.com/CapitalFTimes.jpgor over a decade, ROCKWIRED.COM has celebrated the artistry, industriousness and the independent spirit of today's independent rock bands and artists through their one-of-a kind musical reportage and also through their annual ROCKWIRED READER'S POLL AWARDS.  This year they are getting the ball rolling on their upcoming award season a little early with news of an increase in award categories, the publication of an official guide and an exciting awards show to be aired on the online radio station RADIOKSCR.COM.  Their is also an unprecedented push to get independent artists to have their work considered for nomination by getting themselves and their music featured on the pages of ROCKWIRED.COM. According to ROCKWIRED's editor-in-chief BRIAN LUSH, the 2019 ROCKWIRED READER'S POLL AWARDS will be the most ambitious to date. "We've been doing this for a very long time." says LUSH "And after hosting this online event for twelve years, I feel it's time to do things in a bigger way. The independent music industry deserves it!"

http://www.rockwired.com/2019RRPANominationCategories.jpgThere is no entrance fee to be considered for nomination for the ROCKWIRED READER'S POLL AWARDS. To be considered, a band or artist needs to have been featured on ROCKWIRED.COM. With that being said, ROCKWIRED is extending an invitation to independent bands and artists to submit their music to ROCKWIRED for coverage on the website and consideration for nomination in the READER'S POLL AWARDS as well as a chance to be nominated for ROCKWIRED.COM'S ARTIST OF THE MONTH competition. ROCKWIRED will consider artists for the READER'S POLL AWARDS up until December 7, 2018. If selected, coverage is guaranteed. This upcoming award season will also feature seven additional nomination categories which will include BEST ALBUM ART, BEST LEAD SINGER, BEST GUITARIST, BEST BASSIST, BEST DRUMMER, BEST PROUCER and BEST ONLINE RADIO SHOW/PODCAST. "There are so many aspects to a great band, that we felt it was necessary to honor those aspects with their own respective categories." says LUSH "In making the READER'S POLL AWARDS a bigger, better deal, it was necessary to expand and broaden the nomination categories. I'm particularly excited about the category for BEST ONLINE RADIO SHOW/PODCAST. There is a whole community of  online radio programmers and podcasters that are keeping independent rock music alive. It would be a shame for us not to recognize that."

Once selected, the nominees will be announced on December 14, 2018. Voting will also begin that day with polling provided by MICROPOLL. Once the ballot goes up, voters can vote as many times as they wish though it may involve having to clear your cookies and cache files. The polls will close January 25, 2019.

The award season will officially kick off with our special feature THE EDITOR'S CHOICE. Every year, ROCKWIRED makes a list of the top artists that have been featured on the pages of ROCKWIRED.COM. Those who make the list are selected by the editor. Historically, this list can give readers a good indication of the nominations to come. This feature will be available on November 30, 2018.

This year, to accompany the voting season, ROCKWIRED.COM will be publishing an OFFICIAL GUIDE to the 2019 ROCKWIRED READER'S POLL AWARDS. This magazine will feature exclusive interviews with all of the nominees  and will include insights on some the highlights of our previous editorial year. Additionally, this publication will feature an exclusive update on the voting thus far. The 2019 ROCKWIRED READER'S POLL OFFICIAL GUIDE will be available as a free download from ROCKWIRED.COM  on January 4, 2019.

Once all of the votes have been counted, ROCKWIRED will announce the winners in a three-hour online radio special with music and guests. The 2019 ROCKWIRED READER'S POLL AWARDS show will air on February 3, 2019 on the online radio station RADIOKSCR.COM. ROCKWIRED has produced and hosted such a program for years and for the past four, years, the event has been broadcast on RADIOKSCR.COM with the exception of last year. There is still plenty of time to work out who the guests will be for this three hour program, but expect the proceedings to move along like a freight train. It may not be MTV's VMA's but if you ask ROCKWIRED editor-in-chief BRIAN LUSH, that's a good thing.  "In all of these awards that are out there celebrating hte accomplishments of music makers, you're going to notice that new rock music is notable absent. With the ROCKWIRED READER'S POLL AWARDS, ROCKWIRED would like to see that trend get reversed a little. I think rock music is this country's greatest musical invention because of it's rebelliousness, it's unwillingness to play by the rules and the sexuality of it. In a time marked by celebrity worship and political division, wouldn't it be great to celebrate the rvelry of rock music again?"

It is our preference to showcse artists with completed works that are available through such sites as CD BABY or AMAZON or ITUNES.  If this is not the case for you , please give us an idea of when you intend to drop your release.

If you have any additonal questions regarding submitting materials to this program please contact the program producer BRIAN LUSH at 505.414.4888 or email him at djlush@rockwired.com.
